Home remodeling for Glen Ellyn homeowners
Glen Ellyn mixes the older homes around Lake Ellyn and downtown with later family neighborhoods. No two remodels here start from the same place, so we begin with the house itself. 123 Remodeling is a Chicago-based design-build firm in business since 2008, and we began serving the West suburbs in 2025. Our designers and licensed contractors take your project from first design to final walkthrough, so you work with one company from start to finish. Structural, plumbing and electrical work usually needs a permit from the Village of Glen Ellyn. We handle permits as part of your project, along with any condo or homeowners association approvals your home requires. To learn more, read about building permits in Chicago and the suburbs. Home remodeling questions
Can you provide a cost estimate for my project?
Yes, and it’s free. We’ll visit your home to measure the space and discuss your needs and budget, then send an estimate with budget ranges for each stage of the renovation.
What does your design fee cover?
The design fee covers the plans and renderings our staff prepares for your project, with unlimited design revisions until you’re happy with the result. It’s included in your final contract total, so it isn’t an added expense. Once the design is final, we move on to the next steps: material selection, shopping, permits and, finally, construction.
Do I need an interior designer for home remodeling?
If you want your home to be as beautiful as it is functional, a designer’s input is a must. Our in-house interior designers are part of our design-build process, and if you’d like to bring your own designer, we can work with them.
Do you need a permit to remodel a home in Glen Ellyn?
It depends on the work. Cosmetic updates may not need one, but plumbing, electrical and structural changes usually do. Permits in Glen Ellyn go through the local building department, and we handle them as part of your project. If your home is in a condo or homeowners association, its board may also need to approve the work.
