Take a look at the renovation process 123 Remodeling team captured while working on Master and Guest Bathrooms at Bowmanville, Chicago, IL 60640.
With the Master Bathroom, we wanted to combine cool and warm tones to achieve a more contemporary look but still tie in with the rest of their home. The floor tile and vanity warm up the contemporary shower fixtures. We also decided to mount the tub filler within a niche to create clearance on either side of the tub and to be able to have a smooth surface instead of tile to finish the backsplash.
We updated the guest bath with a pedestal sink and contour toilet which is more efficient in that it takes up less space than a traditional bowl. We also installed a vessel sink on top of the cabinet for additional storage along with double doors with the bench and glass and to use every square inch efficiently. The wall tile was carefully selected to also create movement along the wall and we decided to go with a lighter color to brighten the space. Lastly, the Ice White quartz we carried throughout the bathroom to tie everything in.
With the walls Guest Bathroom, we reinstalled their shower fixtures and vanity but updated the bathroom with new tile, accessories, and paint. Here we also went with a more contemporary look but also brought in pops of color with the mosaic tile and blue-grey paint. and floor complete, it was time for the marble to go in. The customer chose a light color of marble with veins running through which paired nicely with the lighter wall tile. The border tiles were stacked 1/8″ thick from top to bottom so that we could run them horizontally along the edge of the shower.
