Our design intent for both bathrooms was to create a contemporary, clean look that matched the high-rise unit.
In the Master Bathroom, one of the focal points is the floating vanity with a super bright white acrylic finish. To contrast the vanity, we went with a dark grey 12×24 tile wrapping it up the wall creating movement and an accent wall. We also continued the tile into the shower floor making for a seamless look where we instead did a long drain tile near the plumbing wall rather than the traditional center drain. The bright white shower tile, tying in with the vanity, has a ripple design that we continued outside of the shower wrapping it to the linen closet where the old shower used to be, giving the impression of a larger shower area. We also made sure to align the ripples of each tile to not break any lines that beautifully flow into the extra wide shower niche. The third finish that is highlighted throughout the space is polished chrome; found in the vanity light fixtures, hardware, shower fixtures, and accessories throughout. Continuing with the contemporary theme, the couple decided to go with a high-tech Moen digital shower control system that can be controlled through a phone app. Finally, the LED light underneath the floating vanity further enhances a high-tech, contemporary look in this bathroom.
For the Guest Bathroom, we carefully chose a shower tile that had a variation with different white and grey hues that not only ties in with the rest of the finishes but also further enhances movement and when flipped vertically, gives the impression of a taller shower. The vanity in here, different from the Master, is a deep espresso wood finish. The floor tile that we chose also had a little more warmth to it to tie in with the vanity and wood floors throughout the unit. Here we also highlighted chrome hardware throughout. Finally, the extra-long handles on the floating vanity perfectly balance with the large wide drawers giving a robust and sharp unified look in this bathroom.
