This stunning kitchen remodel in the heart of Gold Coast, Chicago, seamlessly blends modern upgrades with the home’s original charm. The clients sought a complete overhaul of their kitchen, updating everything from the flooring and cabinetry to the countertops and lighting, while maintaining the essence of the space.
The focal point of the renovation is the striking black and white harlequin patterned floor, a larger-scale interpretation of the original 2″ tiles. This bold yet classic choice sets the stage for the kitchen’s timeless aesthetic.
To open up the space and create a decorative display area, the upper cabinets above the sink were removed and replaced with a sleek metal and glass shelving system. This innovative solution allows the clients to showcase their stemware and cherished trinkets while maintaining an airy feel.
The kitchen features a breathtaking full quartz slab backsplash that spans the length of the range, providing a clean and sophisticated backdrop for the induction cooktop. The Dura Supreme cabinetry in a warm “Mushroom” color finish adds depth and richness to the space, while the Brizo “Litze” faucet and the “Jane” semi-flush light fixture from Lightology contribute to the kitchen’s elegant ambiance.
To maximize storage and functionality, floor-to-ceiling pantries were installed in the hallway leading to the kitchen, ensuring ample space for essentials and appliances like the GE Ada cooktop.
The result is a timeless, elegant space that embraces modern convenience while honoring the home’s original character.
