Small Master Bathroom Remodeling in Ravenswood

Chicago isn’t known for spacious bathrooms – especially when it comes to older areas like Ravenswood where condos were built decades ago without as much consideration on living spaces compared to other major metropolitans. But we’re experts in using every inch of a condo’s limited footprint. With that determination, this mini master bath now has a full vanity, shower, and soaking tub with room to spare.

Chicago is a city that has been built up over time, with many buildings being erected in the early 1900s. As such, bathrooms are often at their most cramped levels here and there’s less space for them than newer cities might have. But we’ve found ways to make this small condo feel like home through our determination of designing a full-sized bathroom within its limited footprint!

What We Did

  • Demolished existing bathroom, keeping the layout.
  • Updated plumbing, electrics, and ventilation.
  • New tub/shower alcove.
  • The tub is a Sparta 60″ Soaking Bathtub by Clarke and goes a couple of feet back into the wall, giving maximum space in the tub without taking up an entire wall of the bathroom.
  • A half-wall built on one side with a custom glass enclosure, leaving plenty of room for the toilet to be a separate space.
  • 36″ vanity by Bertch, painted in Sage Green to pick up the green tint of the shower glass.
  • French gold finish fixtures.
  • Large format marble-look porcelain shower tiles, and small herringbone tiles on the floor.
  • New door and window installation.

By the time we were done, we’d filled this tiny space with an abundance of subtle glamour.
