Heated Concrete and Snow Metlting Solutions

An electric Heated Driveway is one of the finest conveniences you can enjoy. Sit back and relax as snow and ice melt from your driveway, sidewalk, and stairs. Exterior snow melting systems are now becoming common in areas that are known for harsh winters that require shoveling snow or the use of salt and snow melting chemicals. Energy-efficient electric snowmelt systems are designed to provide maintenance-free snow melting in concrete, asphalt, stone, brick paver surfaces and more.

Roof Deicing systems are one of the best investments you can make to protect your roof from snow and ice damage. Freeze-thaw conditions form dangerous ice dams and icicles that can cause structural damage and leaking to your roof. Snow accumulation creates heavy weight loads on roofs and are often dangerous and difficult to remove. Fortunately, snow and ice can now be cleared away with a well-designed roof deicing system.

Snow Melting Installation and Applications

123 Remodeling snow melting systems can be installed in almost any driveway, and they are unique because they are durable enough to be installed in new asphalt driveways. Without sacrificing performance, these great products are incredibly easy to install compared to other snow melting systems on the market. 123 Remodleing carries both low- and line-voltage radiant snow melting systems. The electric radiant heat system is designed to produce 30+ watts per square foot and provide maintenance-free snow melting for years.

All 123 Remodeling radiant heat systems require a control unit which sends heat to the cable. A certified electrician is required to hook up power to the control unit, but the rest of the system can be installed by any contractor. Cold leads are wired to the control unit and run to the location of the heating cable. The cold leads are spliced to the heating cable, and the cable is laid out over the area to be heated. (Cold leads come pre-spliced.)

Concrete is another great application for the 123 Remodeling snow melting system. The system is designed to produce a minimum of 30 watts per square foot. The cable is secured to the remesh with wire ties and spaced at 3-6". The heating cable can be laid out to heat any size or shape of driveway, sidewalk, parking lot, or patio. This system is the perfect fit for residential and commercial applications. Once installed, the system is practically maintenance free. The 100% automated system with no moving parts makes it an excellent solution for all snow and ice melting applications.

Because of the heating cable's high quality and durable makeup, it can withstand the heat and compression of newly poured asphalt. The cable is laid out on the base surface (usually sand), and the asphalt is hand shoveled onto the cable and base surface.

Insulation is always recommended, but not required. One inch rigid insulation can be installed underneath the base surface, or it can be laid on the base surface and the cable can be secured on top of the insulation.

This system is also unique because it isn't limited to being installed in new driveways. If you have an existing asphalt driveway and will be repaving your driveway, then you're in luck. The heating cable only needs to be embedded in a half inch of asphalt. The cable is secured to the existing asphalt with clips and nails, then the new asphalt is hand shoveled on to the existing driveway and cable. The 123 Remodeling radiant heat system is the easiest system to install and provides the best performance for heating asphalt driveways.

Snow melting system under brick pavers

Installing a snow melting system under brick pavers is the easiest installation method, and cable heating systems are the most effective systems for pavers. The cable is simply laid out on the base surface over the area to be heated, and the pavers are installed as normal over the cables. The 123 Remodeling system can be installed easily under any type of pavers. Because the cable has been tested and approved for wet conditions, moisture can come in contact with the cable and not affect its performance.

The Benefits of Snow Melting

The 123 Remodeling radiant snow melting system uses a line-voltage cable that can be installed in almost every type of snow melting project, including new pour asphalt. No other snowmelt system can be installed in fresh asphalt. Because of 123 Remodeling heat cable's rugged construction, it can withstand the heat and compression of newly poured asphalt.

This high quality product provides the luxury of an automated driveway heating system at an affordable price, and is great for both residential and commercial projects. There are several advantages of this system over other snow melting systems, which are outlined below.
